You can add a friend by going to the 3 navigation bar element, pressing the "add friend" button. Then just pass in the player in question's username and press submit! The user will then find a request.
Going back to the "add friend" page, you can scroll down and see all requests, then justs decide how to treat the request.
When inspecting any chat on the "contact" page (by right click) you can select add user, and then just select your friends and submit it.

When navigating the settings page, scrolling down you have to switch the "discoverable?" switch, and then just write your bio!
